Donation handover for new footbridges

Seehof Herrsching fundraising beer campaign generates 1,544.45 euros

"When we heard about the appeal for donations, we immediately knew we wanted to get involved," says Gerda Reichert, who has been running the Seehof in Herrsching for 28 years.

"I was shocked by the extent of the damage caused by storm "Zoltan". The waves were meters high over the quay wall in front of our hotel. The promenade right next to us was always passable, but after a few meters it was over in the Kurpark due to flooding. Although the steamer jetty withstood the waves, other jetties in Herrsching, including the municipal jetty, were unfortunately unable to withstand the force of nature.

And because Herrsching is also a seaside resort in summer, it is important to us that the destroyed jetties can be used again in summer. After all, we want our guests to feel completely at ease here in the village.

The Seemarkt at Easter was the perfect opportunity for us to draw the attention of locals and guests to the fundraising campaign and to actively participate with our "donation beer". The beer was provided to us by the traditional brewery Hofbräu München. Many people flocked to our stand in the Kurpark and brought commitment, dedication and thirst with them. We would like to thank everyone who took part and contributed to the impressive total of 1,544.45 euros. 100% of the proceeds from the beer sold will go to the municipality of Herrsching to rebuild our bathing jetties."

"We say thank you for the great idea and are delighted with the fantastic support!" says Mayor Christian Schiller.
